the ACCN goes live as a channel, I would assume that all of New York and maybe even parts of Canada will get it because of Syracuse. Likewise, I would assume that all of New England would get it because of BC. Adding UConn may not add any new TV sets because the ACCN was bundled in a low enough package due to the close proximity Massachusetts is to the other New England states.

If UConn is trying to build a case as to why it should be a member of the ACC, then TV markets and ratings may not be a strong selling point once you peel back the layers and exam the information more closely. In some ways it may not be that much different than the addition of VT. VT has a huge following in the DMV and 757. You could make the argument that the ACC already had access to the DMV market (via UMD and UVA) and already had access to the 757 market (via UVA). I am pretty sure the ACC saw a boost in ratings in those 2 markets, so it shouldn't have any regrets even though no new markets were added. If the Hartford market is already covered by BC and/or Syracuse, then will the ACC see a similar boost in ratings as what it saw with the addition of VT?
